About The Delaware Gazette
The Delaware Gazette is a historic community newspaper based in Delaware, Ohio, that serves as the primary print and digital news source and paper of record for Delaware County. Founded on October 1, 1818, as the Delaware Gazette, and Religious Informer, it stands as one of the state’s oldest continuously published news outlets. For 170 years and six generations, the paper was famously operated by the Thomson family, giving it a legacy as the longest-running family-owned newspaper in the country before transitioning to corporate ownership in 2004. Published on weekday afternoons and Saturday mornings, the newspaper officially transitioned from AIM Media Midwest to West Virginia-based HD Media LLC on September 1, 2026. The newspaper provides dedicated local reporting on municipal government, community events, local obituaries, and Delaware County high school athletics
