About The Connector
The Connector is a collaborative regional newspaper in south-central Ohio that was established on August 8, 2025, to combat rising physical print and production costs. The 32-page broadsheet effectively unified the physical print editions of three distinct, historic publications under the AIM Media Midwest umbrella: the Wilmington News Journal (Clinton County), The Record Herald (Fayette County), and The Times-Gazette (Highland County). Distributed twice a week on Wednesday and Saturday mornings, the combined newspaper expands geographic coverage for localized subscribers by sharing cross-county municipal news, a centralized cooking column, and extensive coverage across ten regional school districts. While the physical print layout is consolidated into a single regional publication, all three founding newspapers continue to operate their own separate, hyper-local digital sites to supply immediate daily updates and breaking news to their respective communities. Along with its partner publications, the print operations of The Connector officially transitioned to West Virginia-based new ownership under HD Media LLC in late summer 2026.
